Autumn Arrival

This work is one of my occasional departures from the usual.

When I looked out of a window one very early morning, my eye was immediately caught by a solitary, large, yellow leaf, which had been blown onto the window ledge. It was striking enough that I quickly made an outline sketch of the scene. I later filled in that sketch, and then finally, I decided to make what you now see.
