Steeple
This work is the result of one of those occasions, when I like a diversion, and depart from my usual thematic. It was the end of Autumn, a very clear, but very light sky, just before midday. The tree branches which, in summer, would have shielded the church steeple from my viewpoint, were bare and almost black. The unusual brightness of the sky created a glare in my eyes, but there was a wind which moved the branches, and this fact seemed to lessen the glare, which nonetheless less produced some distortion. It was almost an abstract from nature.
