Abstract 117 – otherwise entitled “Splashes”

This work is entitled “Splashes”, simply because the two, topmost layers of paint on this canvas are just that – large dabs and splashes of paint, in all shapes, made with a very big brush in bold and bright colours. The work is a pure abstract, made without any regard to a specific form, although the structure follows my usual practice of building up colours in overlapping layers.
